Unhappy I long longer have lucid dreams due to medication

For my depression I have to take 200mgs of Amitriptlyine which 'bombs' me out at night. I have tried taking it all hours of the day but it is very sedating.
I have tried other antidepressants to no avail as Amitrip helps me so much with my clinical depression.
So if it means I do have LD's anymore it's worth feeling better in my self, but yes I MISS THEM LOADS!

Not sure how Amitriptyline works, but if it suppresses REM, then you should be able to time it to give you a REM rebound. The mind needs REM sleep, so you are still having it somewhere. Taking it before bed should allow you to have a deep dreamless sleep until early hours and then have long REM rebounds. That's they way that most downers work.
