      RILD (My New Technique)

      Rhythm Induced Lucid Dream (RILD)

This is a technique i've developed myself, or atleast that i'm aware of.
I'm claiming credit as of right now until i find out someone else had this idea first, so i'm not denying the possibility of this technique already existing, though i've never heard of it.
1.Lay down at a reasonable time, you do not have to get out of bed later or even use an alarm clock.

ok, this is almost like the 61 points, except its more like, the "8 points".

      2. Start from your toes, imagine that someone is about to touch your toes.(no, not some scary monster under the bed.)..your brain will focus on this attention, and with your brain simply ask your toes to relax, moving to your shins, to your knees, to your thighs, onto towards your stomach, your chest, your arms and then your head.
(you'll feel a warming sensation as you progress from each point)

      3. When you feel the warmth as your body starts to get drowsy and you can apparently drift off to sleep if you would like to, start to count and sing at the SAME TIME.
One side of the brain is stimulated by Counting, The other side stimulated by Singing.
If you pick a rhythm and sing to yourself, "1, I am Dreeaamminnng", "2...."
so on, still singing each number and phrase as you continue.
I can almost guarantee you will not make it to 20 the first time you try it!!!

      4. Keep your AWARENESS ON THIS ACT OF CONCIOUSNESS!!!
ALLOW YOUR BODY TO FALL ASLEEP, BLOCKING OUT ANY URGE TO ITCH OR MOVE.
now, at the same time you're singing and counting, have an image of where you would like this dream to begin in your minds eye, as if you were singing/counting in at the crossroads or something...this image will help induce the dream.
after a week of trying this technique, i can't make it past 5 without losing count and drifting into my dreams!!!! either i'll gain focus on this technique, or i'll snap back to reality and wake up.
I'm getting better at harnessing this focus!

      NONETHELESS THIS TECHNIQUE PRODUCES PROGRESS!!!!
I Hope this helped someone out!

Sounds like a WILD, with a new trick for going to sleep(the rhythm part).

This sounds like it might work, as I have trouble just falling asleep sometimes. I'll have to try it tonight.

well I thought like that myself for a second, but a WILD is a little different, because i do this technique when im laying down for bed at night,
I dont set an alarm and get up or anything. I usually get up around 2pm and i get to bed around 3am, then i try this technique..
So it's somewhat like a WILD, instead not "wake induced"
anyone who tries let me know what happens!
      thanks

WILD isn't really a technique, but a category that holds all the techniques that go straight from waking to a dream. RILD falls under this category.

What you have here that sets it apart is the rhythmic repetition of a mantra, which makes this more natural-feeling than a traditional typeless WILD. Song makes most everything easier, and is a lot easier to focus on than visualizations for many. I'll be trying this one soon...

      And Nitefall, welcome to Dreamviews!
