the rubbing your hands together thing didnt work...

well last night, or more like this morning, i had a lucid dream and i was trying to stay calm and stay in the dream which i acomplished fairly well. then i started to rub my hands together and it was hard to do so and all of a sudden a static image appeared in my vision kinda staying there and it was wierd. then it well turned into a magazine on a lunch tray

      LOL!

But seriously, erm... That had to be weird! I've tried the rubbing hands thing to increase clarity and stabilize the dream and I've had mixed results. Sometimes it works like a charm, other times it fails miserably. I prefer to look at something (anything) for a while and just notice how clear it is.

You know what also works? There's thread called something like, "the best thing to do when lucid? nothing." Read it and basically do what it says (detach yourself a little and notice how realistic everything is). You don't have to do nothing, but that's a great stabilizer.

      Try it out.
