      Kundalini LD yoga!

I just got up from an LD in which i did some flying before i got distracted by my natural body desire to have sex in which i did then immediately woke up.

It got me thinking about how dream orgasms seem to cause me to wake very often and how this could be caused by a release of energy.

I do yoga and there are certain exercises that can help raise sexual energy to other chakras and it occurred to me that i should try and do this in an LD. In a lucid dream i could take this sexual energy and try and use it in a different way.

I could move it to an emotional centre (sacral) or the heart or further.

Does anyone have an interest in yoga or this kind of experience or has been experimenting with this themselves? I would love to hear some feedback!

I don't think it has anything to do with "energy release" or Yoga at all. I think it's just so intense that it wakes you up.

      Stick to science.

IMO, science has no influence in dreams. The only limitation is your imagination!

It sounds like a good thing to try. Esoteric practices are always interesting in lucid dreams in my experience.

Well I just started yoga and I haven't had a lucid dream in a few weeks so I'm not sure if I have anything to say, except, cool idea. Which excercises are these? I would love to know that.

Thanks for your comments and support.

My latest experiment, i became lucid and wanted to perform this yoga but wasn't really feeling that sexual urge so thought if i were to get involved with a DC it would give me somewhere to focus and then i could start moving this energy up. HAHA! How ridiculous is my dream logic? Of course once all this started happening i got rather distracted and lost lucidity but it was a good dream all the same. HAHA.

I have learnt most of my yoga from dvd's i get from the library. They are by Nirvir Khalsa and just called Kudalini Yoga. He has a web site, i'll put the link in when my internet's working a bit better. There is this excerse which is very powerful for drawing energy up through to the other centres and it can definately be felt in waking life anyway.

Could be. Who knows? I think it would be hard in science or theory to explain exactly why this happens.

But my experience with yoga has shown it to be a very powerful exercise in understanding our state of being. Dismissing experimentation with this in LD's would be a bit a waste don't you think?

You might not be convinced by this but I think the problem here is a difference in language. When a scientist talks of energy, he means energy he can measure, analyze, manipulate. Like electricity. But when someone doing yoga, tai chi, meditation or whatever else talks about energy, he is talking about direct experience. Energy in that case is something like a poetic metaphor in order to describe the experience.

You're not going to find this energy with the most advanced measuring in the world, and yet it is still very real. Because without my experience of reality, there would be no reality. Makes sense?

      *awaits link*

P.S. You can measure the changes in brain activity during any of the previously mentioned excercises by the way. And does it show us some interesting things!

That sounds very self centered. So the only reason the world exists is because there are humans to see and sense it? That's not the way things work. This isn't the matrix.

The brain activity you mentioned sounds interesting though - can't wait to see what you mean. ^^

I don't look at it as self centered. It's more of a philosophical question. What is real? How do you know something is real? In fact, now that you mentioned it, The Matrix basically rephrases Descartes' skepticism of existence of a completely independent reality that is "out there".

I don't feel like retelling what can be found elsewhere, so you can read more about it here.

      Here's some EEG results:

The measurements of the brain's activity (EEG) during Yoga Nidra indicated that the subjects were in a deeply relaxed state the whole time, similar to that of sleep. The theta activity rose significantly on all the twenty one electrodes (11%p). The reduction of the alpha activity (2% NS) was insignificant; this shows that this meditative state is altogether different from that of the sleeping state and comprises conscious awareness. Furthermore, the state was constant and evenly distributed over the entire brain for the forty five minutes the relaxation lasted.

      ..

The results confirm the experience of the yogi: Concentration is a spontaneous state, which comes of its own accord when a method is used that removes whatever is hindering it.

And as the doctors said: "It proves that the 1.5 kg (brain mass) with the unknown content can control its own activity in an astonishingly precise manner. From a holistic point of view, it indicates that the soul and body act in unity."

I think "real" and "not real" are invented by humans. In "reality" there is no such thing. Everything is just, everything.

That's actually a very refreshing perspective... You got me thinking...

      That's okay!

But anyhoo. . . Finally had another LD last night after a bit of a dry spell. I did the yoga excercise i was thinking of but it didn't work as well as i expected. The excercise was one which is suppose to draw energy up from the base chakra to higher ones by clenching the pelvic floor muscles and drawing in the lower stomache as well in a rhythmic pattern. Unfortunately all this did was send my sex drive crazy :p It actually does quite the opposite in waking life i've found because it releases that energy. But no it really built up until i found it too hard to continue. (haha. . . too hard. . . that would be a hilarious pun if i was a guy)

So anyway, not sure how to continue with the yoga excercises from here but have another brilliant idea which i will continue in a different post.

Don't hesitate to post here though if you have made any strange attempts i would love to hear about them
