When you lucid dream, does your mind still get sleep?

I mean a WILD. I know that your body gets sleep, because it is in SP. But what about your brain? Wouldn't you be tired in the morning?

From the few good lucid dreams I've had I usually wake up really refreshed in the morning. I think because it's a different kind of consciousness than normal waking life, but I might be wrong.

Something tells me you've been reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. If you have, LDing has few similarities with his version of the dream world If you haven't. just disregard this post.

      "I feel my heart glow
with enthusiasm which elevates me to heaven; for nothing contributes so much to tranquillise the mind as a steady purpose--a point
on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye."

i dont really think your brain needs to sleep. i think its just your body who needs a break, so he sends your brain the feeling to be tired. theres ONLY your mind still awake and i really don't think your MIND needs to sleep ´,:-/

but i could be wrong too ^^
