      Correlation between dreaming and hypnosis

What is the correlation between dreaming and hypnosis? More specifically, lucid dreaming and hypnosis. Are they both relatively the same? Also, Can one be used to enter the other?

Maybe I should rephrase the questions:

What makes lucid dreaming different than hypnosis? (besides the obvious) They are both ways of accessing the subconscious mind. Aren't they basically the same?

Can you uses lucid dreaming to enter hypnosis? or are you basically already hypnotized?

I hope that makes it clearer.

Lucid dreaming is being asleep, but aware of your status and consciously controlling your actions.

Hypnosis is a waking state where you are able to accept suggestions.

As far as I know, they are almost completely unrelated. Sure, you can access the subconscious in both, but in hypnosis you bring it to the surface. In lucid dreaming, the subconscious is there, usually responsible for the dream.

I don't think you can go to hypnosis from a lucid dream, and you can't go the other way directly. You could potentially hypnotize yourself to become lucid every dream, but it typically isn't very reliable.
