any Techniques recommend for us "late sleepers"??

I usually don't go to bed until about 4 or 5 am and I think this keeps
me in a deep sleep state because my body is always tired and I never
manage to wake up. If I DO wake up, however, chances are I won't go
back to sleep. I'm still on the goal of DILDing, but I still haven't managed to
      pull it off yet.

So does it matter what time I go to bed
or is there a specific technique that can help me along with DILDing?

Set an alarm to go off about 2 hours after you fall asleep.

Just wake up to turn the alarm off and then go straight back too sleep. Chances are you wont even remember doing it but it just means that you wont sleep so deeply.

      For 'very' late sleepers.

There is a feeling when your body is tired and you feel highly aware.

Retain this sense of awareness as your body drowns out in heaviness.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Sounds like me over the summer. How late do you usually sleep in? Do you nap? If that's your normal sleep schedule, I don't think it really makes a difference what a clock says (unless you're looking at it in a dream and it's all crazy.) Not if it's a long habit you've gotten yourself in to. Of course biological clocks could play a role. But I don't think this would keep someone from lucid dreaming. Just do reality checks, and when you wake up in the middle of the night (or morning, as it were), try MILDing.
