      Emotion

Does anybody realize, that when under an emotional "high or low", your dreams skyrocket...?

and also, how does emotion effect the dream world? i have my own ideas, but Seri...you got anything to say?

the truth is...you could slit my throat, and with my one last gasping breath i would apologize for bleading on your shirt[/b]

Emotions do effect the dream world alot. For instance if your pissed of the entire day you might dream about guns and gun fights which represents being aggresive or violent or mad( one of the interpretations of guns)

Same with if your sad or happy.

On the other side, you have to remember dreams often have a compensating nature. This means if your really sad and depressed you might have happy dreams. If your stressed you might have dreams of relaxing on a tropical island. If your in need of "sweetness" you dream of candy. If your poor and in trouble cuz of it you dream of riches, if your rich you dream of poverty and so on..

Thats a explaination from a psychologic point of view..

Now also..from a spritual point of view..

Emotions effect your aura and your soul sort to speak. Your aura weakens when you are experiencing negatie emotions such as fear, anxiety, anger, sadness and so on. This means its more open to outside forces aka negative energy or spirits, name it demons if you must but thats not really a correct term. Thus, in periods of negative feeling sone might have frequent nightmares.
The effect works vice versa and positive feelings strengten your aura, so feelings such as happiness, love, comfort, achievement, care and so on might result in nice dreams..

I think both have to do with it

      nice point.

so could our brain's activity at night be a 'defence mechanism' agains emotional downs...just a thought?

      Emotions and Dreams

I think, it seems that when I get stressed out about a relationship or something along those lines, Maybe even something to do with small little insecurities within myself-I have nightmares often. I used to think they came in patterns and meant something. But they are often random by what they offer me or from what I can remember. Anyone know what I mean?

I supress most of my emotions, so I don't usually get highs or lows, IMO emotions cause many problems in the world

      Emotional Dreams

I'm not saying I don't supress my emotions-In fact i happen to do that far too much. All I'm saying is subconsciencely while I sleep, all my thoughts and feelings catch up with me and twist into horrible nightmares.....usually of the people I'm thinking about, but never do i dream them in their 'modern' form. They're always disguised in some way, but I still know who they are.

:yumdumdoodledum: :yumdumdoodledum: Welcome to our forum WhiteSheWolf!! :yumdumdoodledum: :yumdumdoodledum:

Like you, I tend to either suppress emotions, or allow the feelings to wash over me temporarily and then drift away...

However, they seem to have minimal impact on my dreasm..

When im sad I can mostly find comfort in the other reality, mostly.
Thats why I never really got depressive, plus im a very optmistic person.
Actually, im kinda emotional aswelll, but when i cry its usually of hapiness

Thanks for the welcome Seeker and Lowercase Society. Feelings never really leave me completely, just bury a deeper hole someplace inside. These unfortutnently, when dug up, scar the most and cause the most stress. This is when I get nightmares.
