Something similar happened to me once a few years ago. I had a dream that I was climbing up a steep set of stairs, and one of the steps broke causing me to fall and hurt myself. It was so vivid that I told a friend about it when I woke up. Later that day I came across a set of stairs (in a building I had never been to before) that looked identical to those from my dream, and I noticed that the step that broke in my dream was badly damaged.

I'm afraid I'm as lost as you are on the explanation though.

I would guess that most everyone has a similar story. Weird stuff like this happens all the time- where's science when you need it?

Actually, 1 day prior to 9/11, I saw a dream character throw a grenade at a pile of boxes that were shaped like the twin towers.

intriguing. Concerning the conversation, were they saying things that you had already witnessed in your dream, or was it kind of carrying on the conversation? where was the conversation being held in relation to where you were sleeping? could you have overheard them?

I say this because i have had many dreams within which external stimuli had entered into my dream, for example someone hammering outside my (real) house provided the noise for someone knocking on a dream door and the like.

Beyond that, this is probably a topic for "beyond dreaming". What makes you think that this apparent foresight in dreams is not just remembering, and that our "reality" is just a place for history to reside; a dream of things that have already been? Just some food for thought

I am not saying it was a amazing thing from what I know it could of just been a conwincidence, or like you said they could of been saying something in the "real world" and I could of just heard it in my dream.
Could you put that last sentence in simpler terms please

Well i'm getting a bit abstract here, but when you think about a dream it's just like a memory, right? but when you're lucid, it's as real as you reading this post, yeah? so what if our reality is just a memory that we're living? if you embrace this thought it provides an explanation for predicting the future in dreams, that i'm sure many, many of us have experienced. For one to be able to comprehend this you might have to think about the "multiverse" theory and the existance of multiple "dimensions" or "realities". Time is a meaningless contruct of humanity, it exists but not as we think. Many believe we exist in more than one reality simultaneously. I'm not saying this is my belief, though, although i'm not about to state that it isn't.
