      Anyone else?

So I've just started reading about lucid dreaming and the sort and skimming through various websites and forums I'm reading about things that I've never experienced before. For example I've NEVER experienced sleep paralysis or hypnagogic imagery which many people who have never experienced a lucid dream or OBE have.

Also, I think I have had a few "lucid" dreams in the sense that I realized I was dreaming, however I still felt like I was just an observer, watching the dream through my eyes unable to do anything though.

So.....is there any chance for me to have a lucid dream in the sense that I can control everything or an OBE, or is it a lost cause?

There is a big chance that you can Lucid Dream. Its something that people are born with the capacity to do Your interest in the subject is a good first step. Just read through the website and talk to people. Start keeping a dream journal to write your dreams down. Once you remember a few dreams a night, start to work on different Lucid Dreaming Techniques. Some may work for you, some might not. Stick with a technique for a month at a time, and if if the results are not what you want, try a different one. I guarantee that you will be able to do it, just work hard!

That you have had some lucid dreams on your own is a good sign. If you put in some work you can start having lucid dreams more often. Being able to control yourself in a LD and to control other aspects of the dream usually comes in bits and pieces over time and with experience. It really is worth all of the hard work!
