      Completely Lost Dream Recall

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I hope someone can please help me.

I've been keeping a dream journal and trying to keep up the daily morning habit of writing down everything I can remember about my dreams. Usually I wake up at about 11 am, and that worked fine for vivid dream recall of multiple dreams, but now that I've gotten a job since a couple days ago, I wake up at 8 in the morning, and I can't even remember the vaguest detail. It's all just a blur. I still go to bed at around midnight and fall asleep at 1 am.

Can I work with this new sleep schedule and still remember my dreams? How do I fix this?

Have you only just started the job?
I think that's what you said in your post.

If so your body is probably still expecting your old sleep cycle.

What you'll probably find is after a few days of not getting enough REM your body will adjust and you'll start dreaming more in your new cycle.

Obviously you'll be missing out on 3 hours sleep that you would have otherwise had, so you'll not get quite as much dreaming in. But i wouldn't worry too much. You need to dreams so your body will find a way.

Otherwise try to go to bed earlier.
or maybe do a very short WBTB an hour or so before you are due to get up.

Most importantly dont worry too much!

I usually recall dreams best when I can't sleep well, for example when I leave the lights on or there is noise. Try to leave a light on maybe.

Based on what you have said this is ^ the most likely scenario to occur...
