How to stay in the dream?

In the past week I've had 3 DILDs, but they all ended in a few seconds. The longest one was last night, and it was about 30-40 seconds. I tried spinning, but that only got me an extra 10 seconds or something before I woke up.

Anyone know of any really good ways to make LDs last longer?

I've found if I try too hard to access short term memories or just generally think too hard my brain will automatically wake me up. Next time you find yourself in an LD try to keep as cool, calm and collected as possible. Take a few deep breaths and admire the realism of your surroundings. Touch the ground, feel the ground. I find spending 30 seconds or so doing this significantly increases my lucid time.

Also, to avoid having to access memories know what you want to achieve before the dream. Have the order of goals, how you plan to achieve your goals and how each activity will feel and look like before you go to sleep. As you get more experienced you can increase the spontaneity of your lucid adventures.

There's also the state of conciseness I can sort of "feel" when I'm in a dream, it's almost like being able to feel the frequency of your brainwaves as illogical as that sounds. When I think too hard without being properly grounded or just get excited I can feel the frequency increase as I awaken. It's a weird feeling and I'm not sure if anyone else can feel it, but if you can try to hold onto the feeling and if you feel in increase in frequency you know you need to stop and calm down. Hmm I hope that didn't sound too weird lol.

      Good luck next time!
