I'm beginning to drift away from my curiosity...help?

I've been really busy since school started and haven't had the chance to continue LDing for awhile. LAst time I checked I had only two major LDs, and more than a dozen crappy LDs. Now I'm feeling that it's just a waste of energy and that I should focus on more important things.

I ask, now: is it really worth it? I've tried for almost the whole summer, and on every extended weekend so far. Whenever I try to WILD and incubate a dream or try to distract my mind, it always comes back to LDing, and I either wake up completely or fall unconcious. Maybe LDing isn't for me? Maybe I analyzed the concept until I lost interest...

Also one more question, for LDing veterans: In a good LD, do you actally feel like you can control your body? Or does the dream body tend to be more autonomous, like the first half hour after waking up in the morning? (I noticed that in every LD I had, which were all DILDs, that this occurred.)

Wow, that's more like a bunch of thoughts shoved into one topic...and sorry for getting so philosophical!

What do you mean "Is it really worth it"?
What else would you be doing with that time besides just sleeping?
Personally thats the reason I try to LD. so at least im having some fun once in a while while im unconsious for however many hours.

I dont get mad because I dont have one every night. If I have one it's great and if not oh well. I dont feel like im wasting anymore energy into it than I would if I just went to sleep. before i was having zero, so the occasional ld is a lot better than none.

just appreciate the lucid dreams you have and stop trying too hard to get more, because your frustrating yourself. And remember that they're just dreams. Don't sleep away your real life trying to get into an imaginary one.

I had an obsession with a LD'ing for a month, which I didn't recieve any results.

Month ends, I lost interest BAM!! I have a lucid dream. Hehe!!! Yep, you're probably trying to hard. Just do what I do, go to sleep and randomly you'll become lucid!
