I have so much trouble falling asleep anywhere but on a bed. I think it's one of those sub-conscious associations where when you get into bed the mind automatically thinks "sleep". I have a tough time sleeping in cars or on couches unless I'm very tired.

I had something similar to nightowl's experience. I was in band an a guest trumped player was teaching us about visualization and it was a lot like hypnosis. But while he was having us relax I got that falling feeling where I was sinking into my chair. It was cool but at the time the feeling was "foreign" and I shied away from it. The rest of the exercise I did properly but I think I would have been 100% successful had I not stopped myself. I wish I knew someone with hypnotising experience and see if they could help me with my LDs.
