False awakening. It's when you "wake up" but you're really still dreaming.

That sounds like lucid dreaming depending on how you interpret the wording.

A false awakening is simply a dream where you dream that you just woke up. You do not realize it is a dream, you think you have woken up and are back in reality. Usually, you can find ways to become lucid from false awakenings, but that is another story. A false awakening is simply dreaming that you just woke up.

Has anyone ever been stuck in a loop of FA's?
It happened to me once when I was hung over and it was so tiring that it was almost painful.

I've been stuck in a short loop of about 3. I read a bit on here about people getting stuck in very long ones Were you lucid during those? I don't think, if I were lucid, it would be so bad. But false awakenings where you are doing tedious things really are obnoxious

I just had one this morning. In my dream, I noticed it was light outside, even though it was night time. I asked my girlfriend, who made some excuse about it really being 8:30am, not 8:30pm. I realized this was BS, so became lucid. I immediately heard a loud noise like running water, which woke me up suddenly from the dream.

I sat up in bed, and realized a pipe had broke in the bathroom, spraying water all over the place. Luckily, two plumbers were in bed with me. I woke them up, telling them to get out of my bed and go fix their shoddy workmanship in my bathroom. While they argued about who was to blame for the leak, I sat in bed wondering if I should wash my sheets after having these two big fatties sleeping on them.

I had a loop of about 5 or so and I wasn't lucid. Problem was I actually wanted to get up. During the FA's I was getting ready for work.

Neo was....you know, from the Matrix. Remember at the beginning of the movie, he had like two or three FAs.

I always think they're haxoring into his head, to make him forget or disbelieve what's just happened. That's what the agents did after they infected him.

I had one this morning, but it was suppose to be a wild I guess it can be considered that given the fact that I woke up this morning (real woken up) and I stood up for a few minutes, layed back down and attempted a WILD. I felt the SP quickly actually, and I did a RC and I was dreaming. I was conscious the whole time, from since I woke up to waken up in a FA.

Can't that be considered a sucessfull WILD? Afterall a FA is still a dream.

      Opinions?

If you had a false awakening, you think you woke up. That's drawing thin lines but I wouldn't call it a WILD, because you would have accepted the dream as reality before realizing that you were actually just dreaming, thus making it a DILD.

Hmm..I understand you shift but here's the part what I believe makes it a WILD.

      I woken up.

Layed back down and attempted a WILD.

I was conscious the whole time.

When I did my RC I was still in my bed, in the same position I was in as I layed down earlier to attempt a WILD.

      I felt SP (still conscious)

Did a Nose RC in my bed afterwords, and I could breathe.

Rolled off my bed and boom. I'm in a dream!

      Strange isn't it?

Oh ok, I'd misunderstood you! That's exactly why I said it was a thinnnn line. A lot of people do the twin bodies technique like that to WILD, and never really lose consciousness of being in their beds even as the dream starts. Damn, congrats!

Yeah thanks. I have a problem thought. It's weird, help me out? =D

Once make it into the wild, from the twin bodies or whatever it was. With my eyes closed I do a nose RC. Ok once I find out I'm dreaming, I slowly get up and sit up on my bed.

Then I slowly open my eyes and I see my room. The all of a sudden it's like I get extreamly sleepy and my vision get's blurred and I get hit with a sudden drowsiness and I like slowly fall back into my bed and fall asleep.

It's weird and I can't past that! That always happens to me for some reason. I can't actually stand up or else my visioin blurrs, and I get really really sleepy and uncontrollably fall back down asleep into my bed.

Pisses me off because I can't even enjoy the Lucid I get from a WILD.

      Anything that can help me?

I would rub my hands together, and try to get out of the room as quick as possible. It may take your mind off of your tiredness when the scene changes. Try telling yourself to just get up and go.

I can't even do that which sucks, because I can barely sit up and the sleepiness hits me. One time I could barely even say a word for some reason. Anybody have similar problems?

Here's how to make FA's the happiest thing instead of an annoying thing: get in the habit of doing an RC every single time you wake up (unless you're trying to DEILD or something I guess).

You might want to try sitting back for a couple of seconds on your bed, or where ever you get up from. For me, I try to get up, and it feels like I'm trying to move my body in real life. Therefore, the dream is real unstable, and I'm stuck to my bed. Doesn't happen if I wait, though, because I think my body goes back to sleep.

I wait for a couple of seconds, and then get up and it's fine - no more looping FAs, or that drowsy / bluriness.

Jorge, I have the same problem you do, with the hazy, tired and disoriented feeling after a WILD. You need to find something to focus on right away, and get out of your bedroom and into a well lit place.

If you are not even getting the chance to stand up, maybe you are rushing things. Instead of standing up right away, try to stay calm, take a deep breath, and visualize where you want to be. Remember, when you are in a dream, you don't need to walk places. You don't need to leave your body directly. You can just imagine a scene, and it will become "real."
