      LDs and Dream Recall

I've been told that remembering a Lucid Dream is as hard as remembering a normal Dream. However I have notice that my dream recall is more than twice better when I have a LD. Do you think it might just be a coincidince or if it really maybe had a logical explanation like "The fact that you had a LD gave you more motivation to recall your dreams"?

I think that's it. I doubt there's any biological reason why lucid dreams wouldn't be forgotten as easily as regular ones. It's all about intention.

But wouldn't the fact that you are conscious/aware during the dream make it easier to remember? Apperently, we are not even aware in RL so wouldn't being aware in a dream make it really easier to remember?

Yes, that's where I think the intention plays in. You set the intention to remember your dream when you become lucid.

I always thought that a LD was easier to remember because it was playing out while you were conscious, and the conscious part of your brain was the memory, not the subconscious.

Here's the thing... when I wake up from a lucid dream, all that happens is I'm suddenly surrounded by the real world instead of a dream. Just like right now I can remember what I did five minutes ago, same with my dream memories (though my recall is pretty good and this is relatively accurate for my nonlucids).

But if I'm in a lucid, and I lose lucidity, I often have a difficult time remembering them, compared to waking up from one.

I don't know who you heard that from, but I guarantee you there are no such laws yet established about dream recall, making it probably something they pulled from their ass.
