WOW another WILD and a very fun LD and a question....

Ok I just wanted to share my experience I had this morning because I had my second WILD and my frist LD in three weeks!!

I had a rough night of sleep (still recovering from my crazy weekend I guess) I didn't have to work today so around 9:30 I began to think of lucid dreaming and told myself I would LD.... I also began thinking of a past lucid dream scene. I laid very still but mostly I focused on comfort. I find that I can scratch an itch and move slightly as long as I stay in the same state of mind. (My first WILD happened without trying too hard) So I laid there, felt the vibrations and slowly drifted away. Then I woke up in my bed but everyting was dim (in reality it was already pretty light out) I got up and immediatly knew I was dreaming. My cat was running around crazily and I wanted to go outside so I did and she followed and soon I was walking down a random street, I decided to fly and I did! It was awesome, I even picked up my cat once and had her fly around with me. Then I ended up in a library type place and I talked to a few people about dreaming. Then I ended up in a college keg party and some of my friends were there too. I told everyone I was dreaming but they thought I was drunk. I poured beer on a people, punched some girl in her face lol and made out with a couple "hotties" I found.

Then I would false awaken a few times, but I always knew it was a dream because my room never looked right. It was frusterating though because I kept having to start over and walk outside and find something to do. During one of these false wake ups it started becoming too hard to hold my dream. At one point everything went black and I tried to wake up but found that I couldn't move (SP). Usually I would get scared but this time I just laid there and went with it, soon I felt my body falling backwards and swirls and stars were forming in front of my eyes, then I wasnt in bed anymore and boom I was back at the party. At this point I kept thinking of myself sleeping and I knew my dream would end soon so I tried to create a fireball in my hand (didn't really work, but I did get a lot of light in my hand) then I awoke for reals and I knew I was awake without a question.

So there it is, it was very cool and I felt like I had good control. I always seem to false awaken alot, does anyone have suggestions to minimize them???

when i have an itch or pain i never rub it/scratch it. i focus on the itch or pain as i focus on breathing. dont rub the pain away. see what it does, see if it moves to another part of your body. in minutes it will go away if focused on breathing aswell.

Well for me, I can scratch it and still WILD but I can't scratch every itch and I do lay very still, but more focus will probably get me more WILDS

I would like to minimize the false awakenings because they take me out of the lucid scene I'm in, yes they are cool because I realize I'm still dreaming but like last night I was in a cool place and then had a FA and had to start all over

I don't experience itching, but I do experience minor cramps. Do you also experience cramps?

Yeah, whenever I FA it always becomes lucid afterwards. I just hate that it takes me out of the current scene I'm in.

Tried to WILD tonight myself, but got scared when I heard a big explosion and my body just "jumped" and it was all ruined

Do you get any scary sounds or images when you get into SP?

Never.......once I was dreaming that I was going into SP but since it was a dream my mind created a scary image when I cracked open my eyes, it yelled BOo! (it was actually funny after I thought about it)

But no I never experience those things and I have had several SP spells over the past 5 years

Wow, that's great, congratulations!! I wish I could do that. My recent WILD-attempts were all failures. Yours sound so natural.

Isn't it funny how dream characters never seem to be really impressed or interested when you tell them that you're dreaming all this?

A question: Is your LD fading before a false awakening, I mean: do you feel that it's going to end soon or do you just suddenly "wake up" (false) without warning?

Well once I get into one it is easy and comes naturally but like I said that was the first LD I've had in 3 weeks.... I wish I could get there more often

To answer your question, sometimes it'll be out of no where and suddenly I'll false awake but yes, sometimes I'll feel it fading, I've tried saving it but I guess I havn't found a tecnique that really works

*lol, yeah I guess in your mind you expect the DCs to be like "WOW, we're dreaming" but they don't ever care

Have you tried the "hands and background" technique to stablilize a fading LD? This one works great for me. I know it is very well known, I'll explain just in case you don't know it... You look look/focus on your hands that are in front of you, and then you focus/look at the background, hands and background, a few times, until it clears up and you can go on with the dream.

Oh man that's amazing! It's always the hardest for me to have WILDs...when I hear that ringing, feel the vibrations and sleep paralysis coming on I always try to focus on breathing or visualize something, but I get so excited that I end up staying awake instead

      happens so often though....

All I can say is focus focus focus....when my body starts buzzing and the HI start swirling I just focus on what I'm seeing, also focus on your body floating away (I can always feel my body sinking deeper into the bed) just focus on the feeling and know that you are entering a dream soon and if you focus good enough that should distract the excitement...

I have tried the hands tecnique once and it sort of worked, but I havn't done the background thing with it, I'll try that next time
