      Differences in FA...

Okay i think i had a false awakening last night!! (my first one) have been trying for about 3 weeks now.

but now i reflect & am thinking, what about if i just dreamed i had a false awakening? and i wasn't in control at all?

      what differences would there be?

thanks sorry if my q's a bit confusing x

Have been trying to LD for 3 weeks or have a FA lol? That's basically what you did do though. You dreamed you had a false awakening which is why it happened. I think I know what you're asking but I don't think there is really a difference in the end since it's still just a FA. Just like if you dreamed you had an FA while you were already dreaming (I'd still consider it a FA).

Or are you asking if it was just a "dream FA" versus a lucid one? If that's what you're asking there are vast differences since you are consciously aware during a lucid one, can alter the dreamscape with thoughts and intentions, etc.
This entire reality is SELF REFLECTION. You reflect your essence and project it onto the universe.

Yeah. Well i don't know if I was in control.. or whether i'd just been willing it to happen so my unconscious made up a false awakening story. agrh i'm sorry tis really hard to explain . but anyway i remember doing some illogical things in my FA which i wouldn't have normally thought to do.. and the room didn't look exactly like it did normally like the lighting was different. Are there varying levels of control in a FA?

A false awakening is a dream where you think you've woken up. So, like a dream where you wake up, get out of bed, go to brush your teeth, whatever, and THEN wake up for real. You can't really dream you had a false awakening, I guess, because a FA is a dream that you woke up. You can dream you awakened, and that's what we're talking about, an FA.

If you reality check every single time you get out of bed, you can catch FAs and become lucid in them. Just because someone has a FA doesn't mean they became lucid though, many times it's just a regular dream that you end up waking up from. Luckily, though, you can just do that RC whenever you get out of bed and be all set.

I'm not really sure what your question is, but I hope that clears up the confusion between a false awakening (where you dream that you woke up) and a lucid dream (where you know you are dreaming while in the dream).

I'm pretty sure he means he had a false awakening in which he became lucid, but he's wondering if he was really lucid, or if he was just dreaming he was lucid.

      For example:

I've had a dream in which I've said "hey, this is a dream and now I'm lucid!", but I really didn't have any control over the dream because I wasn't ACTUALLY lucid, I was just dreaming I was lucid.

Basically like watching a movie about me having a lucid dream.

If that makes any sense :/

Yea I know what dreaming you are lucid is. But the way he says he tried for three weeks to get a FA doesn't add up to me. I'll let the OP clear it up *shrug*
