Thread: Lucid but forgetful. Even possible?

Hey,
I have just joined this forum recently, but have been practicing Lucid Dreaming for about 3/4 month (Or atleast that's all I have recorded.)
I am sort of lucky, in the sense that I started out with a pretty good dream recall, and can remember dreams as far back as when I was about 10. Currently, I can remember around 3 dreams a night (Or segments of dreams).

On two occasions now (both recently, within the last week), I have had a strange experience. After waking up, I remember the segments of my dreams, and in some cases, there is a strong sense of lucidity, or that I was lucid during them. Is it possible that I am becoming lucid in dreams, but am just forgetting about it upon awakening?

Yes, it's possible.

I don't think recall has much to do with thinking you are dreaming.
More to do with awareness. Of course, thinking you are dreaming does often inspire heightened awareness.

In waking life, you may be more aware than you are while dreaming, yet can still forget things all the time.

I actually have for a while now been having dreams where I am very aware, but don't distinguish between dream and reality - so technically they can't even be called lucid dreams. I can recall dreams as well as waking life, if not better. It often muddles the realities at times with the levels of awareness, but I do forget and remember things from each within each other and often take them for being real.

So yes, it is possible.

This has been a problem I've faced for quite a long time now. I think the best way to solve it is to expand my short term memory. What do you think?
