Too little sleep ---> VERY vivid HI

So I didn´t sleep a couple nights ago. Last night, when I was dizzy and going to sleep (it was 3am, I was sooooo sleepy), I only had to shut my eyes to see a dream or very vivid and clear lights everywhere.... WOW. Btw I only slept 3.5h last night so I´m sleepy again. I´ll WILD tonight, I swear

EDIT: Oh and I fell asleep in 1-2min.. And I was sitting

if you stay up til 3. does the REM start to kick in anywhere before that, or does it at least get to REM quicker.
as opposed to going to bed at 10

Umm... If you are really tired and have delayed your sleep, youŽll at least go into a dream. Might be non-rem dreaming, not sure.

While I am not sure, I would think you'll still enter Non-REM first then eventually REM sleep. Last couple of days, I went back to sleeping late(~3am) and found that I would fall asleep much faster(obvious), but, that I couldn't remember my dreams. Mind you, I was using autosuggestion to remember them

same, recently iv been going to bed at 2ish and i have almost no dream recal

i usualy remember 1 or 2 dreams in the morining. + i wake up several times in the night after each dream ends.

in the last week, the late nights + stress has meant iv put LDing on hold, because all attempts give VERY disapointing results.
and iv had a huge breakthrough in realising how to make dreams more vivid but i cant practice. HUMPF......

Only advice i can give is to sleep earlier and make sure to do your procedure to remember your dreams. I still couldn't remember my dreams last night either, since, I just feel asleep as I hit my pillow
