      help with between sleep functioning

      section from dream journal:

Last night I went took a b6 and melatonin supplement. I wont say it worked wonders but it may have helped. I went to bed at 9 and since I did not have to wake up at my normal 4:00 AM for work this morning I did not turn off that alarm. Instead I was planing of writing down any dreams I had immediately. It was unsuccessful. I rolled over shut the alarm of when went instantly back to bed. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

so to clarify your sleep is between 9 pm and 4 am? that should suffice for dreaming more or less. So I assume you had the alarm set to somewhere around 00:00? Seems you were just very tired. It may take a few tries but you'll get there!

normal monday - friday wake up time is 4
I did not need to wake up at that time so I kept the alarm set for 4 to write dreams down
I needed to get up and ready for that day at 9

I would recommend reading through the MILD guide in the tutorials section, also once you wake up don't move and try to lye still remembering your dreams. before sleep repeat "I will have long and vivid dreams and I'll remember them" before sleep, however don't over do it- the aim is to relax yourself. if you find yourself getting tired shorten it to a periodical uttering of "..remember dreams...". Also I find drinking tea and milk helps.
