      intimidated by the dream journal...

I was wondering... of the "veteran" Lders (those who have had LDs for a substantially long time or those who have good recall and/or are often lucid during sleep, etc.), how many of you still keep a REGULAR dream journal. I have so many lucid dreams (usually each time I fall asleep), so I have gone sour on writing them ALL down over the last couple of years. If I wrote every one of them down, I think I would have several books worth of dream prattle -yet I feel as if I should be writing them down or at least maybe SOME of them...

You know, your right, I dont keep one up anymore since it would take to long if I want to do it right. I dont see the point anyway, I remember my dreams anyway, and interpretation is not always nessasary, and if it is I can do it on the spot or i ask for advice, or use a dream dic if im desperate. I only write down when really important things happen, even then, those are stored in my mind

I'm usually pretty routine about writing my dreams down. The past couple of years, though, I haven't been doing it as much. I LD every night and I just don't have the time to sit and write every detail. If, while in the Dreaming, I felt strongly that what I was seeing/experiencing was important in some way, then I will definately write it down. Otherwise, I just let the 'normal' LDs float around in my mind for a while.

I'm kind of like you guys. Only the important ones get written down. I am not really sure I need to even write the important ones down since they seem to stick in my memory anyway.

I'm probably the last person to ask for advice here, but it can a ridiculously long time for me to type out everything I remember about my dreams, especially if I sleep a long time, so I rarely bother. For the short time that I was really dedicated with my dream journal I was coming up with as many as four or five detailed dreams a night, and to be honest most of them were boring...

I'm not sure, but I've got three journals full (1 large and 2 smaller sized...) and several loose pages. I wrote one dream down last week for the first time in at least 6 months. It's kinda hard to determine which ones are more "important" though, since about 75% of them are usually very intense. All my journal entries are hand-written, too, so I've been procrastinating on posting a couple of my dreams in "lucid experiences." since I would have to transcribe... I guess I'm just lazy in that regard. :yumdumdoodledum:

Perhaps I am not at liberty to speak for I do not keep a dream journal, but couldn't you just use a tape recorder? It might save you some time if you aren't a fast writer and just want to get all the facts out really fast. But there is something to be said about writing out your thoughts too.

Usually 2-3 pages (8 1/2 X 11), but I also like to use diagrams and symbols at times since these help me remember some things better -especially those things that are difficult to put into words...

Ive always bee lazy when it comes to my dream journal, I cannot find the use of it anymore, if anybody can tell me whats the use of it ill start doing it again but dont tell me:

-You will recall your dreams easier, dont need a journal for recall
-You can figure out your dream signs, I dont use dream signs to get lucid
-You can interpret your dreams, I can interpret them in my head right away if I find them important
-Its fun to write them dwon, it is?
-Its interesting to look back on, all important and wonderful events are right up right *point to his head*
