Tried it 4 times, not an ounce of sucess. It does seem as if alot of people have had good progress from the technique, althoguh imo it takes away a certain degree of control, so i wouldn't try it again.

I've had quite a bit of success with it previously. I attribute my seasons of 1 LD per night (avg) to this method

      [EDIT]
I made a couple of adaptations to it though, and I use it for both DILDs and WILDs

Im a little confused about it. Do you do the HILD every night before you go to sleep or do you just have to do it once and then your subconcious permanently remembers your commands?? Also do you let yourself fall asleep after you do it?
The trick is to combine your waking, rational thoughts to the infinite possiblities of your dreams...

I don't find that it takes away any control, but that's just me. To me, it's taking more control.

Well, your subconscious doesn't remember it permanently. You may want to do it every night, but you can do it every couple of nights because most people can retain the suggestions for at least a week or so. Yes, I do it right before I go to sleep then I fall asleep.

Yep - that's the normal DILD variety of HILD
The other method I use it for is to use the self hypnosis phase to step over HI and into a WILD. Obviously along with WB2B or perhaps a nap during the day. In this case I give myself different hypnotic suggestions - eg. about biting my nails. And then move into a WILD

      Hi there,
i tried HILD a couple of nights ago and it turned out with some pretty bizarre dreams and quit good recall, but there was no lucidity. The next night nothing much happened so i tried it the next night and nothing much has happened yet, so i'm waiting to see what happens tonight.
Guess i just need more practice

Was this thread actually meant to be about hypnosis, or hogart's method? both are 'H'ILD... although self hypnosis = SHILD
