You said you knew you were dreaming, so you were lucid, regardless if trying to exert control worked or not.

i think it was when i woke up that made me doubt it, it felt like waking from a regular dream, so i thought maybe it wasn't real. but i have never woken from a LD before, so i guess i wouldn't know the difference
