      I will admit now, that i am overweight. [NOT OBESE!] Kind of ironic, with my name 'SkinnyBill'. If you are wondering about that, its a nickname at school. Anyways...

      I heard somewhere that there was an experiment where a group of people were put in a gym and told to excersise.
      Another group of people were hypnotized and put to sleep (or something like that) and were hypnotized into thinking they were excersizing (my spelling is awful soz). The two groups *excersised* for the same amount of time.

      Now the result of this experiment was, the people that werent doing anything, just sleeping actually burned more calories etc. and were sweating etc. They had a better result that the people in the gym!!

      Its mainly a power of the mind thing, but i was wondering (might need an expert here) if you excersized in a lucid dream, would it have a physical effect on your body?

      Just a thought. Any ideas?

      Muscle mass is formed/improved through constant use. Any effect the excercizing might have would most likely be exhaustion or or confidence. Purely psychological.

      You're not going to get physically stronger by weight lifting in your dreams, sorry. If I bench press an airplane 50 times every night in my dreams, am I going to get jacked? Of course not. Muscle building is a science, not some spiritual or psychological mumbojumbo.

      Visual progress will only be made through physical activity ( as no-name said dreaming this sort of thing may boost confidence) May also give you more will to lose weight as you may be able to see what you may look like after you lose weight in your dreams.
      Only thing that exercises during sleep is your brain..

      Sorry, I don't think so. While it may be possible to further develop and strengthen neurological connections, the notion that the ability to burn things from your body or make muscles larger seems a bit off. Just try eating less. Then you won't even have to worry about how much you do or don't burn.
