How do you dream about a subject?

How do you dream about a subject, a theme, a fantasy in other words. Once I get lucid or really aware I start thinking too much and I am not sure that just by me saying 'hey, this is a dream, I can do whatever I want' and then all these characters I've been writing about appear and we have a good time.

I've noticed that when I do reality testing, I've been doing those Daily Reality Check things from Shift where you click on a page of 'magic zeros' and get a theme for that day. Today is bathrooms and I have to rc each time I go potty or pass by the bathroom.

I've noticed that each time I do the reality checks and the afirmations and the being aware of what is going on in my world and trying to remember a dream and so on that my brain becomes quite 'grown up' and blank. And this happens in dreams also when I get really aware, things start to just stop and nothing magical happens, like if I tried to make some ficitonal character appear and have a 'venture it wouldn't work.

I dunno. I guess at my age I should just be greatful for any crumbs before the dreams stop for good :-)

      :-)

      This can help.

Mantras are a good way to make yourself dream of something.
      Bollocks.

You may just devote a whole day to that one subject. Find movies or shows that relate to your subject and spend some time watching them.

You may also try to grab a whole bunch of pictures of your subject and either try a brainflooder (I can find you a link if you want), or just put them in windows movie maker (or any other picture slide-show program) and have them shuffle through the pictures while listening to some relaxing music (LD inducing music perhaps?)

I'm going to try to have a day devoted to watching nothing but anime, and hope that watching anime all day will produce an anime-themed dream.

Anime related dream... that's pretty interesting... I've had a couple LD's where I made the entire world in to cartoon/anime style(which is pretty weird, seing as one shouldn't be able to move around in 2D.)

Myeh.. I haven't really been able to dream about a chosen subject either... I've wanted to sit on Naruto's giant summoned toad for years.

Don't know what a brain flooder is, does it also have a music track attatched? I got movie maker, I think, but don't know how to use it.

I'll try your suggestions. Thanks and I hope your efforts are successful.

I have had success incubating scenes as I fall asleep. If I don't WILD directly into the scene, there is a good chance it will appear in my normal dreams.

Incubating content from my day is pretty unreliable. I don't regularly dream about the thing I did during the day. Normally there is a delay of a few days or a week, and the content is unreliable. Often, the things that go almost unnoticed are the things that end up in my dreams. The things I am focused on rarely make an appearance.

For example, If I'm watching James Bond before bed, I will not dream about James Bond. I will, however dream about the telemarketer who calls me and interrupts the movie, or about one of the previews I fast-forwarded through.

The one that is posted here does not, but you can play music with it in the background pretty easily.

I should write up a guide on how to use WMM so people can make up their own brainflooder videos with music and what not.

For me, the idea of focusing on one thing will probably work quite well, because for all the dreams I can remember for the past few years (though compared to you guys that isn't much ) my dreams are just mixtures of some of the prominent memories, actions, views and focuses of my day, but these are also main parts in most dreams.
That said, self-affirmation (yup this again) works with most people I know and no doubt many I don't
Basically (though you've probably already tried this) focus on it most of the day, and when you're getting to sleep, focus on the fact that you WILL have that dream, and sort of play with that, maybe focus on how it would work in the dream or what you could do in it.
Probably something obvious but helpful none-the-less.

Woohoo! I had a DILD and a DEILD one night both for the first time
      DILDS: 1 DEILD: 1

Yeah, WMM tutorial is a must, I could certainly use it :-) I know nothing about WMM at all.

And another member was supposed to upload some MP3's with some subliminal lucid dreaming songs on them but didn't. The links to other download places don't work good for me.

Yeah, I don't either. And if I watch Lord Of The Rings or something and then want to dream of it I'll reliably dream vividly of another fandom unrelated to LOTR :-)
