      Weed vs. Dreams

Hello everyone, I'm new to this board and quite new to LD too.
The thing is; I've recently stopped smoking weed, and my dreams are going crazy.
I started trying to dream recall and gaining control over my dreams two or three nights ago, and last night I remembered 5 dreams, and I've had two LD's the past two nights.
This increased dream activity happens everytime I put the weed on hold for a couple of weeks.
Before I stopped smoking I couldn't remember any dreams, so If you smoke weed, you should really try quiting.

      That's it.

That's too bad. It doesn't seem to inhibit my dream recall ability.

There was a good post about the effects of weed and quitting it on lucid dreams, and I think it was to do with rem rebound or something. Can't find it now though...

Smoking Weed does inhibit the person's dream recall. BUT...you can still train yourself to LD while still smoking weed daily. I am doing this right now. In fact, my first Lucid Dream occured after a long night of bowl after another.

If you don't want to give up the greeny-green, stick to keeping up with your dream journal religiously. Also, as you sleep, express your intent to remember your dreams to yourself. Try to let this be the last thought you remember having right before you crash. It also helps to not smoke a couple hours before sleeping.

I blaze chronic, I dream vividly and creatively. Why stop?

I don't know if smoking inhibits anything when it comes to dreaming, but if you quit, the activity goes straight up. So if you're already LD'ing while smoking, the activity would probably go from there on and up...

I smoke weed on the occasion. Maybe once or twice a month at most. I never have problems remembering dreams the next morning though. But what I do realize, is that my dreams are so much more insane. It is often the case that my dreams only make sense WHILE I'm dreaming them, and after I wake up I look back and find them extremely funny and strange. Well, the weed takes weird dreams up about 20 notches - utter nonesense.

      Cheers,
      Dylan
