      Help with False awakenings

      **Help with False Awakenings

Ok, this is starting to make me mad =P

I just found this site, and have been trying to get a LD for the past three days

I usually remember 2-3 drewams per night, so there is no problem with my dream recall...the problem is, my false awakenings are TRICKY!

On the first night I dremt that I woke up, disappointed that I couldn't remember any dreams that night, The second I got up, I actually woke up. that was OK to me, I kinda laughed and shook it off

The next night I dremt that I woke up, got dressed and got in the car to go to school...there were no dream signs. When I got in the car I really woke up. So I decided to start doing reality checks everytime I woke up.

The thrid night really pissed me off. I dremt that I woke up, did some reality checks, which both didnt work. Then I took out my DJ, and wrote about the previous dream I had I got all the way through the entry and woke up. I was like "NOT AGAIN" and I looked at my DJ to see no new entries =(

seriously, is there any way to outsmart my crazy false awakenings?

you gotta do your reality checks in real life way slower and more carefully. Don't rush through them. Think to yourself, "for all I know this could be a dream" and then prove to yourself beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is not.

What do you recommend as a good reality check?

I usually check my phone to see if it works, and look at the clock

Look at the clock, look away, then look at it again. Is it the same time? Is it even working?

Something else you could try is plugging your nose and holding your breath. If you can still breathe then you're dreaming.

Also, try shoving your hand through your other hand.

RC when you wake up. If the RCs don't work, that's a RC problem not a FA problem.

Ok so I just had my first LD... not bad for my 4th day =D!

But It wasnt a DILD...I dont know what you would call it

I realised I was dreaming, then I immediately woke up for 2 seconds, and somehow launched myself back into the dream...It was fuzzy so I spun and rubbed my hands and It got really vivid. It was really short lived though

I jumped really high up in the air to see how it felt, and I got that sinking feeling in my stomach and woke up and Jolted in my bed like I had just fallen IRL xD

Thanks It was great! I thought that it wouldn't be very real, but I was really surprised...I wish I didn't immediately start trying to do crazy stuff >.<

I have mild vertigo, so maybe jumping really high wasn't the best Idea for my first LD xD

      Sooo...

This morning I had my second LD...I was in this ranger station looking out over the woods...It didnt last long but still, it was an LD =D

I see on here people say that it can take months or years to start LDing...so why do I have two in a row on my 4th and 5th night?

Also Im having trouble staying in my dream once I become lucid...both of my Lds have been DIELDs because I always end up accidentally waking up =P

      Any tips?

Im having a similar problem. Last night I had 2 hours of false awakenings in a row lol. I was dreaming that I was trying to get to sleep exactly like I was when I was awake and I had two dreams were I got up to go to the bathroom then worke up. Its frustrating but rather comical. I suppose It will go away once I start getting better at doing RCs when I wake up. I was testing WBTB and the effect on caffine on my vividness and that combination is what made it happen.
