      WILD Night

The only times i can practise a WILD effectivly with the waking up then returning to sleep is on weekends, as early starts for college get in the way of this. So i am going to try WILDs at night when i go to bed, but was wondering if this is futile. I have read up that it is only recommended to try it from waking up 4-6 hours after falling asleep, but has anyone had any success with WILDs at night? And can it be used as practise, even if i cannot obtain a WILD?

I find it would work best at night. However, what is most important is your circadian rhythm; when you are used to falling asleep. At this time is still a good time to WILD as it will be easier to transition. Though, this also depends on your WILD method. Which are you trying..?

Iv'e been trying to use visualisation techniques, in particular visualising riding a bike, as i have been going on bike rides recently. I start by trying to feel the handlebars, then try imagining peddling(which is harder than you'd think)
and the feel of the wind etc and any kind of sounds (birds, bike wheels rotating)
Dunno if this has ever happened to anyone before but i got too into it and almost went uncounciously into a dream until i crashed my bike and it actually gave me a scare

Wilds are recommended after 4-6 hours of sleep. It's not mandatory. I have had success WILDing as soon as I went to bed, but generally late(around 11pm) so that might have some affect on my ability to WILD before sleep. You could also try during a nap, if you ever get the opportunity with your college schedule.

And when you say "practice", are you asking if it can be used as practice for a future WILD? Yes. After all - if you're giving your best effort - with each attempt you learn which sleeping positions, times to attempt, techniques, etc., work best for you. Practice makes perfect.

      Good luck

I'd reccomend around 6 hours of sleep. I'd try using one of these online alarm clocks or something- try a noise youre not used to springing out of bed to- this might wake you up "too" much.
then i usually read the bible or something and then I crash
and Higurashi's advice about the naps is right too- i've gotten an LD out of one, but outside influence brought me out of it..
