A closing sensation that feels like i'm leaving my body? Comments?

So last night I decided to attempt a lucid dream after giving it a break for several months. I just tried to keep my mind awake and to allow my body to go to sleep.

After about thirty minutes, it felt like darkness was closing in around my head and like i was leaving my body through my forehead. I dont know, that's the best way i know how to explain it.

I kept thinking i was about to be asleep, but it was like that was as far as I could get. The next thing I knew, I was waking up.

      Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions?

hello josh. I wouldn't want to enter a controversial area by making strong statements about astral projection which many people here would disagree with. But what can not be denied is that some techniques of astral projection can be awefully similar to WILD. I would say they are similar to the point where if you are attempting one or the other you can end up with an increased capacity for both.

If so, why did you not remember any of it? Perhaps because AP recall in the beginning can be as elusive as LD recall.

please, feel free to say whatever you think.

but i dont think i remembered any of it because i wasn't successful. Like i said, it was like i was right on the brink of *something* but couldn't get it to work and eventually i just fell asleep.

Some people say that everyone is always leaving their body while they are asleep, only that they are seldom ever lucid and remembering while they are doing it. In the same way that everyone always dreams while they are asleep, but seldom ever lucid and remembering of what they dreamt. I don't know

Maybe you didn't leave your body and only fell asleep. All I was saying was maybe attempts at LD count as practice for both LD and AP. You might at some point be getting enough unintended AP practice that you start having AP experiences instead of LD experiences*

      * Though many here (who I don't want to argue with) would say they are the same thing and that people who say otherwise need more practice with reality checks.
