Unable to get anywhere close to lucidity

I feel like when I first started, I used to be able to lay down and have the patience and be able to keep my eyes from flitting long enough to have lots of HI. Now I can't, even when I wake up I try to do a WILD and I cant even come close, I did it so well before, now even if I think I WANT TO LD I WANT TO LD until I fall asleep as I try to WILD I dont even MILD, I cant ld at all, it sucks

      Hey,

This isn't uncommon. I think maybe you could have a week or two where you don't concentrate on dreams; you don't have to isolate yourself from Dreamviews but simply having a rest from trying to LD every night helps some people.

Stop trying so hard, and try something new. Perhaps take a short break first, like Lewis said
If you're not getting anything right, taking a break can't hurt

By trying something new, you're getting your mind interested in it again (by mind, I'm including the subconscious)
Pick up a new technique you haven't tried, or come up with a new idea

Unless otherwise stated, views expressed in this post are not necessarily representative of the official Dream Views stance. Hell, it's probably not even representative of me.

Lucius gave me some really good advice to help with some of my dry spells, now I'll pass it on to you.

Get out somwhere, doesn't really matter where, the Mall, a park, the forest. You need to be by yourself so you can concentrate your full attention.

Just walk around and dedicate your full attention to every detail. Observe as much as you can and question reality the whole time.

Do this for an hour a day if you can. Perhaps, it will close the switch.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Thanks for the advice guys, but for the first time since september I think I just had 2 lucid dreams , 1 was a reality check, the other was a WILD after the reality check. They were great, they were both really long and I had along time to walk around and talk to my friends and stuff, the first one I was at school and I was thinking it was a lucid dream but I wasn't sure because I didn't want to be embarassed, but I just floated through the roof and then I ran around telling everyone The second one I woke up right after the first one and closed my eyes and I started to see a very unclear outline of a window, it started to get clearer and I started to move towards it(or it moved towards me) and I remember seeing my hand sort of grab the window sill and I climbed through it, and I went numb and heard some wispering so I was in the dream. I don't remember all the details of them perfectly, but they were cool I'm happy I did it, and I really didn't try either

As I read your subject title, that alone told me somthing.
I think it was Henry Ford who said, "you can or you can't, eihter way you are right."
Don't let a dry spell manifest from a molehill into a mountain. You have done it before, so it is clear you will do it again

I'm going to start a dream journal, I caught onto this pretty quick I think, there are some people who have been here for along time and have only had a few lds, I learned about it right before school ended and had 16 throughout the summer, and have had 3 this school year. I hope the journal will help, I think I am going to start doing reality checks again, maybe write are you dreaming? on my hand? Has anyone had any sucess with that? Well now I have my confidence back and I hope I can start having lds again, maybe every time I plan on having one I should post that I can't do it
