      Contacts?

I have been having a dry spell lately and as a result I have been thinking of what I could/should change.

I also realized that the biggest change that I've made in my life has been switching from glasses to 2-week continuous wear contacts.

My eyes always need drops in the morning as they get really dry, but other than that I have had no issues (unless you count having no LD's as an issue...which i do)

So what do you think? maybe the dry eyes are inhibiting some of my rem sleep? Ill Try sleeping without the contacts tonight and let you know if I notice any changes.

It could be causing discomfort that you're not aware of (because you're asleep.)

      That could do it.
      Bollocks.

Okay, I tried a combination of three things last night, I removed my contacts, I took 2.5mg Melatonin and 150mg Vitamin B-6.

Result: I think I overdid the melatonin for my bodyweight because I woke up heavily drowsy and foggy, but I did remember one dream. I was rushing to get to school (which is a common dream for me even though I'm in college now) and everything was extremely clear. When I took a shower it was almost like I could see every drop coming out of the shower head, and I could taste it too. I wont go into more detail to save some time but I went to bed at 11 and I awoke after this dream at about 4:15, so not only did it last a long time, but it occured early in my REM cycle- so there must be potential for more length.

Long story short; Removing the contacts, Melatonin, and Vitamin B-6 all seemed to help out in falling asleep and dreaming more vividly.
