      Art in your lucid dream

Have you seen a painting or actually heard music in your dream? I wish I could remember after waking, especially the music. I've peered very closely at a painting and noticed the brush strokes, the colors, etc. And told myself, "Notice this, remember this!" which really worked to impress it on my visual memory. But it's the music I wish I could remember. Has anyone here been able to recreate music from a dream?

It is said that musician Richard D James (Aphex Twin) gets a lot of his inspiration from Lucid Dreams. Even if I could grasp a memory of the music, it would surely be gone long before I found a way to create the sounds again. If only I could!!

The thing that holds my interest in lucid dreaming is that you really can bring things back from it. But really, paintings and art come largely from our subconscious / imagination anyway, which is the same place. It's just we're fully enveloped in that place when dreaming.

Multiple times in my non-lucid dreams I have heard music. Interestingly, music in my dreams sound exactly like it does in real life. Since it doesn't need to go through your vocal chords/musical instrument, it is quite easy to recreate it in your head. This morning I woke up hearing a part of a song that was in my dream. The song actually was stuck in my head for a few hours this morning.

I have seen paintings in my dreams but I don't remember them.

EDIT: I have never heard music that I created myself.

Okay cool. But you mean the music is stuff from real life. I'm talking about music totally original, created by your subconscious. That's the stuff I wish I could remember long enough to compose again.

I've had dreams where there were paintings hung on the wall, but I can barely remember most of them. Can't remember ever hearing any music In my dreams though. (I don't really remember sound itself in most of my dreams either)

One of my lucid goals was to find myself in an art gallery and see what my mind would come up with. Unfortunately I never got much headway as far as uh... lucid dreaming goes.

Yea? Nice goal. I like it. Well, don't give up, and you'll get a taste of a nice lucid dream someday. If you haven't already, it gives you the motivation to keep practicing. It doesn't require that much work, anyway. Just a desire and consistency.

The only music I've heard in dreams art songs that are already out there.

As for paintings...I think it was last week that I had a dream that I discovered a stack of drawings that I'd done in the past. Two of them were original paintings! They were fantasy, but I've lost the details by now, and when I wrote the dream down I was too rushed to get it down to write the details. :/ Still, it was amazing both in the dream and out to go through them.

Well I don't really remember having any paintings or anything like that in dreams, not that I've really taken note of anyway.
But I do have music in my dreams quite often. I play the guitar, and in dreams I sometimes find myself playing some incredible music that I've never heard before, or I'll watch one of my friends playing it on his guitar or whatever. And I can never remember it when I wake up, which is EXTREMELY annoying. I just remember that I heard some incredible music.
It's kind of a goal of mine, that I may or may not have just come up with, to try and remember the music one time, and hopefully play it in real life. May be a bit of a pipe dream though.

I paint and draw in my dreams. Only problem seems to be that sometimes lines don't behave like they should i.e lines appearing just because I think so, not from the pen I am holding.

Music is often memory based, but I have heard new mixes too. Probably just my imagination running haywire
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I wish I could play piano in my dreams (even if it's something I already know in real life, not original). Maybe I will someday, but I haven't yet (though I have had fragments where a piano was in the dream).

i've written music in my dreams. none of them were lucid but i've done it. a few times i've dreamt that i was playing in church and had to do a riff on the spot and actually did it in my dream playing how i would in real life. i think the key to remembering music in your dream is to play it. for example if i play it on the guitar i can remember where i played it, eg which fret, string etc, but if i just come up with a tune it's super hard to remember when i wake up.
i've heard that that painter dude that paints all those melting clocks uses LD's to get ideas, so yea it's totally possible!!
      Total LD's = 6 and counting! lol
