Good point. Omnipotent, that's what I was thinking. Might be fun for awhile, but is shallow. So it will lead to boredom. It's not fulfilling. On the other hand a creative person (generally) should have no such boredom. The question then is at the source, not the destination. What do we want before we even begin? You made a good point! We are what determines whether lucid dreaming is boring or exciting.

Yes, that feeling goes away after awhile. Just like "wow, I'm married!" goes away after awhile. xD But after that, I believe you can mature your experiences with lucid dreaming. I was just trying to get away from "omnipotency" which I discovered was not fulfilling for me.

I'd have to say, a mood that doesn't give up appreciating the mind and the possibilities of lucid dreaming.

I gotcha. Well, are you uninspired in real life? Personally I think you have to have the important things in real life first, before we can take flights of fantasy and get any enjoyment from them.

Okay, okay, nothing beats a good flight now and then. Your picture does capture the idea pretty well. Another similar for me is giant suspended flips on a sandy beach. Very likely because I used to live on the beach and jumped on a trampoline every day of my childhood.

My best were the same. I prefer it that way, come to think of it.

Yes, you all reminded me that even my ideas were a bit controlling. I do want to try the stabilizing scenes idea. But now I really see the benefit in less control! Control only over yourself, and perhaps preparing a general idea and watching it unfold. Yes you can just take whatever your subconscious gives you. But I like the idea of sort of planting a seed and watching it bloom into a dream-story, while you remain lucid and play out some role therein. Even if that role is just being an observer.
For example, I want to find myself on a rainy city street, with the idea that I will have to find someone I've been missing. I know who that person is, I've just never met her. I really want to talk, because I know that she is the kind of person who will listen with care. I want to listen to her and her past. I want to know who she is on the inside even more.
Is this controlling? There are some specifics laid out. But there's a large element of mystery. I don't really know what the city looks like. I don't know where she is, or what other kinds of people might be crowding the streets. Or will they be empty streets? Is she on the third floor? In a hotel room? In a cardboard box? What will she tell me? The whole conversation will not be predetermined.
Thank you all for the reminder about less control. Keep up the LDs.
