Awesome or mediocre?
I'd taken over two years break from intentional lucid dreaming. (Got married, had a baby girl. ) Getting back into just dream recording, I had a lucid dream on the sixth day. However, it was a bit disappointing. I have this reoccurring theme to my lucid dreams. (Even before I stopped.) It is one of running through rooms, down halls, choosing which door to go through, always picking the one I feel is least common or used. I feel like I have to rush. My earliest lucid dreams, when I first began, were really breath-taking. For example, when I once peeled away from my sleeping body in my actual bedroom, and began walking about, and looked at myself in the mirror. It was so intense, so real, I will never forget it. But this running about mindlessly is getting old. It's more like a poor 3D game. (And I do not play such games.) Sure, I'm aware it's a dream. But it's dull. I'd rather have an interesting non-lucid. Perhaps it is evidence of a huge lack of creativity, which could make a lot of sense.
As I continue to practice, I can probably improve it. But it brings up a question.
How many of us are experiencing the best?
Probably the first is always the best. Because our interest is so high. We are LD virgins. Do you all maintain the excitement even after years?
