      Ridiculous Dreams = Reidiculous Expectations?

Okay, so here's my quandary. My dreams are simply....ridiculous. They never, and I mean never, have any normality to them by and stretch of the imagination. Take my one last night for instance.

I was in a kind of car race (Think Fast and Furious meets Speed Racer) and suddenly my car crashes and I ejector seat out of it where I manage to finish the race in 1st place on foot, whilst the bridge we had just crossed during the race collapses, me jumping off it to the finish line. I then fall and end up in battle with a rock monster thing that looks like, well, the thing from Fantastic 4, wielding some kinda energy/plasma sword in one hand and a regular sabre rapier in the left. I'll spare you the details but you get the idea, my dreams are simply ridiculous.

My question is, how come I don't seem to question these dreams? It seems like I should be DILDing every night with such whimsical dreams but I don't question it. I've been having these dreams for so long have I conditioned my expectations to also be ridiculous making me not question whats going on? Is there a way to counter this, because if I could I would be able to DILD every night.

Thanksin advance for all your answers and support, gotta love the DV community.

The "logical" part of your brain shuts off when you sleep, so you will pretty much accept anything that happens. I also have totally mindblowing dreams, such as the other night when I dreamt that me and some guy were ice skating (I can't iceskate IRL) and deliberately sliding on the ice and slamming our "jewels" into a small propane tank! I mean WTF! I didn't become lucid needless to say XD.

yea, some people say it helps to sleep on a particlular side when we sleep because the blood goes towards the logic side of the brain and helps it work. but i dunno about that, it may be true, it may not be.

but i hate how i always have crazy dreams then when i wake up in the morning i realise how stupid it was and wished i realised in the dream.

Ha! I have some seriously nutball dreams, too.

But even though their sheer ridiculousness is a product of our logical mind switching off and thereby making it more difficult to achieve lucid dreams, don't you think those crazy dreams are still kind of... FUN?

I mean, you obviously remember your dreams in some detail -- and I can think of worse ways to spend my night than racing cars and battling rock monsters with kickass plasma swords!

Ha, I never was complaining about these dreams. I wouldn't trade 'em in for anything, I'm just saying if I could be able to get some handle on dream awareness I could definitely DILD almost every night, though it seems much easier said than done.

And yeah my dreams are crazy, even the more adult ones, haha, though for those especially I can't complain

One of my favorite was the scene that is taking place in my avatar. I was playing this totally embarrassed school boy and it was cute
