      Lucid dream within a dream?!

Ok so My roomate walked in at 4:30 am today from doing who knows what and woke me up, but as I tried to go back to sleep, I fell into a dream, and in that dream, I went to sleep, and this is where it gets weird. As I fell asleep in the dream I went into a lucid dream, while dreaming! i was fully aware i was dreaming, but this was confined within the original dream. I was trying to make things appear, but it was so hazy and I could get anything to materialize, but i was aware I was dreaming. and to make things more crazy, I had a false awakening in which I woke up into the dream, and thought I had missed my exam only to wake up 10 mins later to my actual alarm!!?!!?!! has anyone ever had something like this happen? this was just so weird for me, i can only say I have had 1 LD while trying, but I guess this makes 2 if this actually counts.....Would you all call this a LD even thought it was confined within another dream? This is just so weird, Im disturbed in a good way ha.

If you knew you were dreaming then it absolutely can count as an LD. It may not have had good clarity or length, but if you realized you were dreaming, then yes, it counts. I haven't actually done this before, but I have heard many stories of people becoming lucid this way. Congratulations on your second LD, and good luck in your future efforts!

A lucid dream is defined as any dream in which you know that you are dreaming. Despite there being various levels of lucidity, I would definitely cite this as a lucid dream. I myself have had many dreams in which I've gone to sleep within the dream and had a lucid dream within the dream. Keep it up, maybe you can have a lucid dream within a dreams dream

Congratulations on your second lucid dream.

I've experienced a fair few lucid dreams within a dream.
I've even dreamed WILD attempts which succeded far too quickly.
      Quite a good DILD trigger.
      Lucid Dreams:-
      MILD/DILD: 79
      WILD: 13
      DEILD:13
