      Distractions

so lately the last couple of lucid dreams ive had have ended up with me getting distracted and loosing lucidity and going back into regular dream mode. and its been happening pretty fast, like one minute after i become lucid. like last night while i was dreaming i was at my old school and plugged my nose and could breath so i knew i was dreaming and immediately went to open a door so i could summon my subconscious and have a conversation with him but when i opened the door there was a class going on and the teacher told me to sit down cause i was late, this immediately caught me off guard and i lost lucidity.

Ive realized that when ive been becoming lucid ive been getting a little ahead of myself and immediately trying to use my powers or something. what i need to do is stop and focus for a little while and just observe the dream world and tell myself over and over that im dreaming.

so i was wondering what other techniques i could use to increase lucidity and awareness?

OMG, you actually sat in the classroom once lucid? Once, in a LD, I was going to gym class, right before lucid, then I became lucid, and started walking away from the class. The gym teacher told me to go with the class or something, but I told him that I was dreaming. He just said oh, and I was off on my merry way.

Maybe every once and a while remind yourself that you're dreaming, and notice your surroundings. That could help.

Dude I had a dream the other day that my teeth were falling out so I nose pinched and I was lucid, however, I walked out of the stall I was in and seen some fat guys, lost lucidity and went to class So yeah I've been having the same problems as you. I guess a good way to stop that is to really do more extensive RC's throughout the day and, like lucidreamsavy said, really observe your surroundings and if you find yourself dreaming, don't rush into it but take everything and make sure it is really you.

Yep, I had another one of these last night. Its getting very frustrating. I was in a police car going to prison when we seen a lion, I went lucid at this point. After I seen the lion and it jumped on the car I lost lucidity and then I was back at my school. This is like the fourth one in a row.

yeah i know how you feel man, like the last three LD's ive had have been like this, it is really lame. so right now my goal for my next lucid dream is to just chill and keep telling myself im dreaming and observing the dream world.

My suggestion is to do more reality checks. Sometimes too many is a bad thing but in your case I think they would be helpful. I do realty checks whenever I change my clothes, Wake up, Open doors, use the bathroom, and even when people ask me questions. I don't know how many you do but if you increase that number it should help.
