      question...

I haven't posted in a while, but I just had a really strange thought...

Last night I had a pretty good lucid dream, and in part of it I was talking to my mom about lucid dreaming. I told her I could wake up whenever I wanted to, but she didn't believe me so I showed her. I woke up for about a minute before falling asleep again, but now I don't know if I really did wake up or it was just a false awakening.
To wake up, I rolled my eyes back in my dream, which opened up my eyelids in real life. But now that doesn't make that much sense...
So my question is do you think I really did wake up or not?

There's no way to know for sure, but it's quite possible that you did. There are all sorts of way to wake up from dreams, and they dont all make sense. For example, staring at an object for a long time can wake you up pretty reliably. Try doing an experiment: the next time you lucid dream, wake yourself up and leave yourself a note somewhere. Your dreamjournal would be a good place, if you have one. Do a reality check, too. Go back to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, see if the note is there.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

That sounds so very famliar to a dream I had

What did you do during that minute you were awake?

I have rolled my eyes back in my head to wake up and I have had two results. One I did in fact wake up, the other I went into another dream, but not lucid.
The line does indeed get a little fuzzie at times!!!!

All I really did was lie in bed. I should have written something down though.

All I can say is that every time that I rolled my eyes back in my head I used this as a technique to change the dream scene. With you doing it without the intent of that you may very well have just awaken briefly.

Eitherway, next time try to do the same thing, if you are lucid ofcoasre, and picture or invision a new dreamscape.
