A Bit Of Alcohol Does Help...

I know most people say that alcohol prevents dream recall etc, but I think in moderation it does actually seem to help. I always seem to have better recall after drinking a little alcohol (as everyone is different I'm not sure how much a little is, but around 2-3 pints or so I guess).

Last night I was so close to going lucid, but didn't! I even told people that it must be a dream, and did two reality checks, but I didn't go lucid! Ah well. The heightened dreaming sense I spose was also due to the fact I was sleeping in a different location to usual.

That is EXACTLY the problem I run into when I drink too much. It seems that my mind is fuzzy enough that it just won't let lucidity kick in. The only time I can get lucid after drinking is after a full eight hours of sleep.

At School i was told that a tiny bit of alcohol can be good for the heart if you have a heart problem. Maybe dreaming has a link to this?

Since alcohol is a depressent it may be helping you to get to bed more soundly. Similar to the same reasons everyone is trying melotonin, herbal tea, this that and the other to envoke Lucid dreams. To get those three or four hours of sleep to get some good REM sleep.
But in my opinion alcohol itself does not help memory.
