Here's how I first started having lucid dreams during my naps. I would wake up, take an ephedra (Metabolife back before it was made illegal) and go to class from 9-11am. Then I would come back to my dorm room and take a nap from 11-2, because I had my next class at 2pm. (the time is important because I think that around this time of day is a good time to try to LD during a nap, if I try in the evening it doesn't work as well)
The ephedra is important, I realized, because it is a stimulant. You'd think, how can you fall asleep on stimulants? Well, with some, like adderall, you can't. But I seemed to be able to fall asleep ok on ephedra. Maybe you should try caffeine. The point is, that it keeps your mind active and alert and although your body falls asleep, the moment you start to experience any of the Sleep Paralysis or Hypnogogia you will usually snap back to conscious thought and be able to follow it into a lucid dream. I call these unintentional WILDs, because I'm not laying down trying to WILD. I'm laying down and actually trying to fall asleep, but the stimulants make it so that you will usual be able to become aware right away when something unusual starts happening...like a WILD.
I probably just confused the heck out of you and if so, sorry. If you have any questions about anything I've said please ask I'm more than happy to explain it all. I've been having what I call "marathon lucid naps" for years. Where I spend a few hours napping and going from one LD to another back to back. But it's not always so easy. You have to sit through sleep paralysis and HI in between each lucid dream you enter and exit. It gets extremely exhausting after awhile and takes a lot of control and practice to get to such a place. Good luck.
