I have a slight problem with lucidity.

I have been practicing a LONG time, and now that I have found this site, and read regularly, I can RC and attain lucidity often.

The problem is that whenever I attain lucidity I wake up seconds later. Is there a way to stop this? And does anyone else have this problem?

It comes with experience and practice. One great idea that was suggested by someone (I forget who) is to stand in an empty room in real life and pretend that you just realized you were dreaming. Do you get all excited, or do you stay calm, cool, and collected? Do you attempt to make the dream clearer? Do you expect to wake up at any moment? You really want to get in the habit of stopping whatever it is you're doing and focusing on a very certain aspect of the dream. DO NOT think about waking up or your dream body. This exercise can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes to complete.

But yeah, the more you do it, the easier it will become to maintain lucidity. Good luck!

Ill give that a try, during the dream I dont want to say I get excited, but more....surprised and the surprise/shock wakes me up. Ill try to calm down a bit.

I have this problem sometimes. I am not super experienced, but I have found for me that rubbing my hands together works well at keeping you in the dream. The tactile feeling helps a lot. Also, when the dream starts to fade just try to think about just going to another dream instead of waking up. I have found recently that this works especially when rubbing your hands together. I get a lot of FA's doing this and sometimes think I am actually awake, so I don't RT and try to DEILD but recently I just know when I am in a dream a lot more instead of relying on RC. Hope this helps a bit. If you find something that works for you let me know I need tips too.
