Question Why does being excited wake you up from your Dream?

I've been reading up on waking up from a lucid dream from being excited. Why does being excited in a lucid dream always have to wake you up? And in non lucid dreams if you kiss a DC you get excited and wake up. I kissed a DC Female and I got excited and woke up this morning. Why does excitement seem to wake you up from your dream wether you have a lucid or not? Every time something exciting happens you wake up. You cant seem to enjoy the rest of the excitement in the dream. Is there a way to fix this?

Your excitement produces adrenaline and it can kick you from the dream state if you become overly excited. You can still enjoy your dream and feel emotion, but you just have to learn to be in control of yourself. With a bit of experimentation/trial and error, you will learn when you become too emotional and it threatens your dream state. Just takes some practice. Stabilization techniques can help keep you in the dream when your emotions are running high as well.

Very interesting topic! I can see the adrenalin rush being a big part of that jerk awake, as well as the emotional quieting as a solution.

Something I have thought of in regards to these moments, which have booted me from many an incredible lucid experience, is the concept of 'other' in the dream state. Have you ever tried to explain to/convince a DC that they are a DC? Every time I become lucid enough to do so, everybody takes off. I often find myself wanting to 'share' my lucidity with my DCs, and as soon as I acknowledge a consciousness other than my own, in a situation entirely dictated by only my consciousness, I short-circuit and wake up...
