Does anyone else not like beginning a lucid dream but love becoming lucid?

I like becoming lucid in dreams, and taking control. But I don't like starting lucid.

Mainly because, in normal dreams before you lucid, there's already a story set up, people are there, and things are happening. You know, there are things to do. Every time I begin a lucid by WILDing, it's boring. I always start in my bed, roll out of it, run out of my completely normal house then to the completely normal and bare streets. And then I speed run down them trying to find something to do.

A couple times I ran out, a kinda interesting dream story developed, or I saw some random things I don't usually see in a begin-lucid. Like my uncle with longer hair, sharpening a stick with a knife, vines coming from somewhere and covering the sidewalk, and a weird animal staring at me, but those things are weak in the randomness that I love in normal dreams.

What do you guys prefer? Beginning lucid, becoming lucid, or both?

      It really depends, I find.

When a dream progresses a bit before becoming Lucid, it gives a 'storyline' or a frame of mind to work with. You can act out according to that situation, and shape it. Of course you're in no means restricted, but having a situation present itself or already be presented gives a certain set of "limitless limitations." In that I mean, you could do whatever you want, but instead you'll act according to the situation. Which can be a lot of fun, and very insightful. You can act to solve problems in that situation, test your creativity under certain limits.

Of course, starting lucid and having a full "Sandbox" environment is always entertaining. Testing the limits of your imagination, forging new realities and creating your own world.

I compare it to "sandbox" video games. Going out to do whatever you want is always appealing, and will always be fun. But sometimes you just want to play the missions.

Really great way of putting it, I'm a gamer so I can appreciate that.
