      First WILD in years

      Greetings,
I'm probably older than most of you and if you read my first post you know that as I've aged my lucidity has declined. I have been working on brain chemistry changes via supplements and have had some success.
Using a new protocol to initiate hypnogogic imagery I had a direct entry into a fully lucid dream. I had been watching and playing with the HI most of the night when one of the images became "sticky" and held my attention, (that's the only way I can describe it). The transition into the dream came when I decided to turn my head and I discovered that I was in the scene. This boundary zone between waking and dreaming was perceived as a "bump" sensation as though I separated from my physical body. At that point I was totally lucid and able to move through the dream scene with near-perfect vision and tactile feel. The dream lasted for a subjective several minutes than dissolved.
In every LD I've ever had the dream action is at a standstill. My LD's are frozen scenes with no dream character interactions. LD's are fun but I still maintain that, for me at least. I achieve more personal growth from non-LD's
where I have intimate, complex interactions and strong emotions. These I term Power Dreams and I accept them as gifts from my Gods and deeper self.
Questions for all...Do you have more energy, emotions and action in lucid or non-lucid dreams? Would you prefer lucidity over deep revelations? Do you have meaningful LD's or do you just enjoy the freedom?
I can't argue with the freedom of action that LD's bring but I do value knowledge and personal power gained from shamanic-type dreaming.

Deep journey- type dreams where all the elements of a shaman's trance are present, i.e. entry into the Earth womb, emerging into another world, power animals and guides, finding a gift or power, bringing it back to this world.
This is the basic hunt for power of the shaman.
Thank you for your reply to my post. What part of France are you in? I was in Paris in 1996.

I never seen anyone taught about lucid static dreams . Hope you can manage to go through your age and that problem.

There's a topic here in DV which speaks about the Dream Guides, from which I think they are Dream Characters but have knowledge to guide you to your deeper self/past lives. So it's a good thing to try out...

Hi Rodulf, that sounds similar to a recent experience I had, there was a distinct 'jolt' as I moved into the HI imagery/dream scene.

(sadly it also jolted me awake)

I experience this pre-HI jolt frequently. When it happens it almost always wakes me up as well. I once read this happens because of some loss of equalibrium. I never truely understood what that meant, if someone could elaborate that would be much appreciated.

Maybe it's just me but all of my LD's that I can remember were static. Oftentimes beautiful and mysterious and vast but always I seemed alone in the dream.
Perhaps this will change over time?
My issue now is my greater enthusiasm after a successful dream seems to shut down lucidity and focus. I've come to believe there is a cycle, up and down, and I need to be more sensitive to this so as to avoid a sense of failure.
On the plus side my ability to visualize and generate HI seems to have improved. I attribute this to more patience during induction and a greater understanding of the process of HI. I credit this forum with helping me on that.

I've been wondering about the extent to which being to eager is stopping things from flowing

the liminal zone between sleeping and waking does seem to be very significant!
