      Smile first "real" LD!!!

Hello everyone. I just had my first 'real' lucid dream last night! I have had a lot of nightmares...but they ALL stopped that i remember in the last month. Probably because for a few months I was feeling kind of depressed...because we just moved out of state and I didn't have any friends for a few months. But I have been feeling really happy the last month, and I haven't been scared of having nightmares like I used too. Another reason I am sure of...before when I was having nightmares, I was really trying to have an LD...I would repeat mantras, do RC throughout the day, WILD, etc. So when I was repeating mantras in bed I couldn't help thinking of nightmare. I would think "what if this happened..." And then I would dream the nightmare I thought of. So the past month I just listen to music or play a game on my mp3 player until I start dozing off, and then I turn it off and fall asleep right away....even fallen asleeping listening to music. So that way I forget any bad thoughts and then fall asleep before I have time to think of any....

K, done with the long wordy part.... now for the LD!

well anyway... When I had my LD, I had a really wierd long dream...I was at my friends farm, then I was somewhere else, and then it was in the last part. We(me and some other lazy people) were in this building. We were at the end of a hall, where their was a bedroom, and a kitchen I think. Ok, so the entrance to the hall from where we were had two sliding doors that you close and then lock each one to the other. There were monsters/aliens down the hall from where we were, and the sliding doors were open. I knew some would come soon, because they came earlier and busted the doors open. So I had to walk over their and close and lock the doors. It was dark, and I was kind of afraid. About equal to if: Your front door was open wide, you were 20 feet away(inside), and you knew that their was a killer bear within a hundred feet of the house. You are not "nightmare" scared(like a bear chasing you), and you know that you half to close and lock the door, but the lock is broken so you half to take the time to put on a new lock. That's about what it was like in my dream....but I wasn't that scared. All of a sudded when I was trying to shut the doors, I saw a 2D image over my 3D sight. It was wierd...I saw what looked like a suduku puzzle that was 2D and took up all of my sight, but I could see right through it. I remember their was an 8 in each corner box. I just suddenly knew that I was dreaming. The 2D image dissapeared(i forgot about it so it dissapeared). I suddenly felt all tingly and excited, and my vision blurred, and I woke up 5 seconds later. In the five seconds I had, I am mad I chose to do that. I knew I was waking up, so I wondered what dream sex was like....so I grabed a ladys in the dream, pulled her quickly into the bedroom and asked here to get undressed, she did, and i found myself undressed...just as we were about to have sex I woke up.

It's normal for new LDers to feel tingly and excited, right? It stinks that I didn't think of spinning or rubbing my hands together... I wonder If I even could of stayed in the dream, because I woke up from the 5-seconds LD at 8:15AM, and I usually wake up at 7:30AM automatically. Strange...

I have had a few lucid dreams in nightmares but woke myself up the second I was lucid, so I don't count those as real lucid dreams...

Thanks for reading my reallly long post if you read this

Congrats on your first LD! I've never had a full blown LD yet...but will soon hopefully. At least you had one so now many more migh occur naturally. I think it just takes a couple times before you learn it..just like with anything else.

I know how it is to move somewhere else and not know anybody. Just give it time...and remember...good people are good people anywhere you go and you'll find good ones anywhere your life takes you!

Hope to hear of your future LD's

That has happened to be a number of times. I think it's best to take your time, don't rush your actions because it's almost as if you convince yourself that there isn't much time and then you wake up because of it. If you feel the dream fading, rub your hands together really fast or spin (sometimes spinning can wake you up though if you don't change dreamscapes) If possible grab onto something to keep yourself in the dream.

Next time have a goal in mind that you want to achieve as soon as you become lucid. If you just rush and try to do a million things at once it will likely cause you to wake up. Convince yourself that you will not wake up, even say out loud "I will not wake up!"
