      Something I Read

How true do you guys think this is? It is kind of scary.

PS I just had my first lucid in a while, and was getting excited to get back into it before I read it. Maybe don't read if you're easily discouraged.

Repeated thoughts strengthen the neural connections those thoughts use. The wonderful thing about dreaming is that neurons communicate beyond the path of least resistance which is the old, commonly used thought processes you use every day. When you're dreaming, that's when you get your chance to improve, to grow. The pseudo-random activation of the brain effectively tests the old deep-worn brain patterns and opens the door for better ones to form. By taking that opportunity to dream lucidly, you're using that chance not to improve your brain function, but to wear those same old pathways even more deeply. It's a deliberate impediment to growth of the mind.

Source? Seems like BS. Even so, nobody on the forum dreams with lucidity all the time when they sleep.

Someone posted that on a forum, the thread's probably gone now. I was just curious what you guys thought of it. It's hard not to feel discouraged when you read something like that :/

Sounds like a load of HORSE shit to me. That is like saying beer and drugs kill brain cells, yet people still do those ALOT more than most of us lucid dream, and you don't see them running around suddenly becoming retarded.

Just someone that doesn't know what they're talking about talking out their ass.

      "I feel my heart glow
with enthusiasm which elevates me to heaven; for nothing contributes so much to tranquillise the mind as a steady purpose--a point
on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye."
