It's like you're in a nine millimeter war!

      Hello!

I'm very new on lucid dreaming, in fact i just started working on it, I've only had regular dreams but they have lately become stronger.

Anyway, I usually follow the tip to set the alarm clock 1 hour before you should go up, so the dream will have a chance to go lucid. However, when I do like this, this last dream (I usually have around 3 before the last one), is a lot more powerful than the others and usually gets me emotionally affected the whole day.

So, a dream I had, it was yesterday. It was very strong. There was a guy, a creature in my garage, he was very angry at me and he was holding me at gunpoint with a wand. It was like he was lecturing me, just like an epic hero-speech in a movie. First I understood what he was talking about cause it happened in real life. But then he said something that I couldn't quite figure. He said:

"It's like you're in a nine millimeter war"

I could hear this really clear in the dream, just like he was giving me some kind of message. I often get these kinds of messages, mostly words I have never heard before, never even thought about. However this was a sentence with existing words, but there times when what I hear in the dream is just nonsense, but they are speakable words. This is really weird I think.

      Has anyone had similar experiences?

      And one more thing:

Sometimes when I'm about to fall asleep, I sometimes see pictures in front of my eyes, and when this happens I'm still pretty much awake and can open my eyes if I want to. I usually see objects or a different environment, the thing I know is that this isn't my room. This is too very weird, because I could at any time open my eyes cause I'm awake

Well, I don't tend to get what you call messeges but generelly my last dreams of the night are both more vivid and longer, I don't know why though. I could be the fact that I often wake up from them and therefore recall them better but another explanation would have somthing to do with REM-cycles. If I've got this right the longer you sleep the longer your REM-cycles get and it's during REM we dream (I think). So pherhaps the longer the more intense?

The other phenomenon you described, the imagery before falling alseep is here refered to as HI or hypnagogic imagery and it is very common. Sorry to say I don't know the ins and outs of it

Why isn't wars measured in distance anyway? Makes sense, no?

By the way I see your name is Henrik, are you scandinavian by any chance?

      9 milimeter..

Anything to do with 9 milimeter guns? Say such as a street war, cause most legal guns are around 9mm? any turf/gang wars going on?

      Trouble in your neighborhood?

      Bel-Air?

Yeah, maybe not messages, but it's not very often I can actually hear a sentence that means something. It's really cool.

And I read somewhere that a good thing to do is to get up a little earlier in the morning, maybe go to the bathroom, and then just go back to sleep, should be easier then to have dreams.

Another thing that I was thinking about is the feelings after a good/sad/epic dream. Sometimes when I have a dream that I would really like to come true, or had been true, I feel pain and sorrow when I wake up and figure that it wasn't real. It was a good dream, but a sad truth.

In an epic dream it could be like I'm some sort of a hero, the self-esteem is pouring and it feels really good, I can keep these feelings a while after I've woken up. Are these type of feelings common?

And another thing, I can't fully understand how a lucid dream is like. Is it just like magic? I mean, is it in real time. When you wake up from this lucidity, is it like being quickly teleported right back into your body, and you remember every second of it, like it was real? My dreams are usually like a movie that I only remember, not being a part of it. Could someone explain this?

      Yes, I'm scandinavian, Swedish.

No, nothing like that. I don't have the slightest idea where my brain has gotten it from, probably from the guns.

      Thanks for the replys!

Many people say to stay away from the "Layer System" of lucidity, but whether you believe it or not, it's a great way to demonstrate the different levels of lucidity.

There are many stages of lucidity. Obviously, not at all, or having an "unconfirmed suspicion" i call it, which has happened to me one. Where It felt like I was extremely horny to prove it wasn't a dream, but no reality checks worked.

Then there's where you can control yourself.
Then there's where you can control yourself and your environment.
And where you realize your dream characters are just your imagination.
And where you can control you dream characters.
And where you realize that it's a dream AND your body is in bed at home.
And where you can control everything, know your body's at home, etc. etc. etc. etc...

And things called Out of Body Experiences (OBEs) which I have no experience with.

I personally don't believe his "Layer Zero" Is lucidity at all. However, I classify my "unconfirmed suspicions" as Layer Zeros.

I think what you are trying to describe is WBTB which is not really an tech to have dreams more easily, you have those wheter you try or not. you can look it up in the tutorial section.

I also experience very strong feelings when i dream, both good and bad. And I think this very common, why else whould so many of us take such great intrest in dreams? I think it's partly what makes dreams seem significant to us.

You're qustion about lucids however has gotten me confused. Do you think lucids aren't real and when you ask if you are directly teleported back into your bodydo you mean that your soul or saomthing acctualy left in the first place?
Lucid dreaming is a consiouss dream, which means a dream where you know that you are dreaming and therefore can control it. Lucids as well as all dreams are products of our mind. Therefore they can also be experienced as vivid and real as waking life. It all just comes down to how well you can remeber that experience and how vividly you dream. Dream recall can be trained, and the vividness can be consiously enhanced within a lucid dream. So short and sweet, yeah they seem real but has nothing to do with magic.

If you want to discuss this further I suggest you PM me as I am also swedish and find it easier to talk about in swedish, Låt oss tala svenska
