how long do lucid dreams last??

i have the feeling in my head that lucid dreams only last a little bit so i get worried and tried to do a goal as soon as i became lucid and lost my control of lucidity....should you just chill out for a minute or two and explore the world you became lucid in, decide what you wanna do, and then do it??? will it prolong your dream???

Yeah dude all you need to do is just be calm about it and take in the detail of your surroundings. I know you'll get excited when you realize your lucid but try not to to get too excited that you rush things. Never rush to do goals like I do a lot cause you could end up losing your lucidity or waking up.

RCing a lot while lucid can prolong your dream. Also if you think your dream is ending then do something like rub your hands together.

The longest lucid I've had was around 5 minutes but I've heard of people having 20 minute lucids. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Until you wake up. Really though, you prpbably don't have to worry about the dream ending too soon since you probably have the time to wait a few minutes before you do a goal.

The short answer is, it's different for every person and it's different for every dream. For example, I have a much longer lucid if there is a false awakening right at the start of the dream and I become lucid from it compared to another dream where I RC in the middle and become lucid.

Also it depends on how long you've been sleeping. Dreams are short early in the night, and get longer as the night goes on. For me, the length of dreams peaks around 8 hours and then starts to go down a bit after that as I've slept too long and have trouble staying asleep longer. There are a lot of factors like that which can affect how long the lucid will be.
