Being in the video game and playing the video game@same time

After playing star jedi outcast and other star wars games I frequently have dreams that are rather odd. I'm in the dream playing the game, being the character, and waving around the lightsaber, but at the same time while this is all in my field of vision, I can still feel myself clicking the mouse and pressing keys on the keyboard. It's like I'm in two first person views at the same time. What I manifest in the game through the keyboard, I carry out in real person view. It's pretty crazy, because this goes on simultaneously. really wierd stuff...

I recently broke a Halo addiction, during which I dreamed about Halo nearly every night for a few weeks. I had the same experience as you describe several times, where I was both seeing the game as if I was in it, and yet I could feel myself playing. It probably has something to do with the fact that we're so used to experiencing the game from a certain point of view that even when the pov changes, some of what we're used to remain. If that made sense... I've also had experiences where, as I'm falling asleep, I'll be thinking about playing a console game, and I start moving my hands as if I was actually playing. Probably a similar reason: thats our expected method of input in that environment.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

I've had similar experiences, but it's about half and half with the relation to video games-

Anyway, have you ever had an experience where one of you dies, but the other doesn't? Usually, when this happens to me it's in a gaming-type environment, for obvious reasons. Once I was in a video game, and outside at once, like you described earlier, but the me that was playing on the controller outside the game died when somebody broke into my house. I saw both perspectives, me in the game, set on beating the level, and me outside the game, who started out with the same goal, but later just tried to survive (and failed). After he died, I just kept on going in the video game as if nothing had happened, except without the second point of view...really trippy.

Here's a topic I made about it a long time ago that I managed to dig up-- 2D and 3D/Extra Senses

Also, has anybody here had an experience where you have extra eyes/can see through two peoples eyes? Outside video game dreams. I've had several--a few about movies, but mostly I'll have dreams where I'm a set of twins or something similar, but I'm both at once, and I hear/see/smell/taste/feel everything that both people feel. Really Awesome

I think I've had similar dreams before. They're not that vivid, but I once had a dream of being on TV. I was both on the TV and watching it at the same time. Freaky.

I am with Scruffy (somewhat)..............I only have the imagery when I just finished playing a first person game like Halo or Killzone. I beleive that this is because of the intense level of focus used to scan the screen to snipe or sneak up on enemies in the distance . I think that intense level of focus burns the battle ground in your head, cuz when I hit the sack and close my eyes, all I can see is the gun in front of me and enemys running at me etc......I never acted out the game with my hands though. I see everything as hypnogogic imagery when I close my eyes. Honestly, it never carried over to a dream, either.

Halo and Killzone ROCK. Too bad I don't have a PS2, so I have to borrow Killzone from friends...

Now to go get Mercs for X-Box...See if I can screw up my dreams any more...

ahhh. I have dreams like that too.... I dream I'm playing a game or watching TV/Movie and I have both my viewpoint and the character's viewpoint. The only difference is that I don't have them both at the same time.. it kind of switches around
      The end justifies the means.

any of you guys get video game dreams, like blending a couple games together? in this one dream, i was in UT2004, and it was a game mode sorta like tag, where if you were it, you turned into a vampire dude from Bloodlines. it was pretty cool. lol

I used to have the same thing when I went fishing.... when you close your eyes to go to sleep you see the little float infront of you and expect it to go down in the water constantly... its because you concentrate on it so much during the day or something.
